What collaborative tools do you see as the most useful/effective to assist learners in learning or just in broad effective collaboration on projects? Why? Here is a prior Blog to a different but similar topic simply for reference: Topic Reflecting upon Behaviorism and computing enabled philosophical paradigm. What tools are you finding useful for getting learners to work on projects and problems in a problem-centric approach to learning? Behaviorism and Computing Enabled Philosophy The old fashioned way of learning, classroom-based learning, is being enriched or replaced by technological learning innovations that foster cooperation amongst learners and even between learners and teachers (Lytras et al., 2015). Technological learning is a great contribution to a new philosophical paradigm that promotes open, flexible and collaborative learning that goes beyond time, place, and personality constraints (Lytras et al., 2015). A number of digital education tools have been generated to give autonomy to students and to encourage collaborative learning. Furthermore, these tools facilitate communication between teachers and students. The most common modern digital tools for education that learners and teachers use include; Socrative, Edmodo, Projeqt, TED-Ed, Thinglink, eduClipper amongst others. The choice of the tools that I would use in education learning would be influenced by the conditions of the classroom, the budget constraints, equitable access by all students and teachers, the schools improvement plan and the sustainability of the said technology in terms of ease to use, minimal training, and ease to integrate or even its application to several subjects. There are three existing philosophical approaches that influence the use of technology education; content, process and method philosophy (Lytras et al., 2015). Content philosophy views technology learning as a well-defined categorization of knowledge that relates to industries and technologies like communication, construction, manufacturing, and transportation that are key subjects of study for learners. On the hand, process philosophy regards technology education as an encouragement to competences in solution design and problem-solving. Lastly, the method philosophy sees technology education as a form of constructional activities where learners manipulate tools and materials to make products thus learn about science, social studies and other subjects. My philosophical view on technology education supports the process philosophy, that it is a means by which learners develop competences on solving problems and coming up with solution designs. This would make me encourage computing enabled philosophical paradigm. Reference Lytras, M. D., Mathkour, H. I., Abdalla, H., Al-Halabi, W., Yanez-Marquez, C., & Siqueira, S. W. M. (2015).
