A critical literature review to be undertaken for a sub-chapter heading titles Global up-rise to climate change. This needs to be a well debated paper. This chapter will be used as a guide for further writing requirements. This sub-chapter concentrates on aspects of climate change (looking globally/historically to nationally, UK within the current period. Links to housing typologies, housing stock, population rise, weather change and impacts to peoples health, wellbeing and overall quality of life. Take into consideration sensitive social and economic current matters, and past and current country wide retrofit projects, of improving occupant quality of life. In addition, have retrofit projects made any alleviation in occupant fuel poverty. Some pointers to consider within this section are listed below. Chapter 2: Critical Literature Review 1. Global Up-Rise to Climate Change – Where did climate change start, what does it mean, why are we so aware of it Look into Global impact and then narrow down to Europe and the UK – How climate change has become a topic of discussion and impact – Who is most at risk – How has construction/building played a part in climate change – How peoples health is at risk due to climate change – Does fuel poverty play a role of climate change and the rising energy bills – What has been done/is being done to tackle climate change (renewable energy, legislation and guidance, peoples behaviour and change etc) – What are the challenges/drawbacks/issues still to be resolved – Can housing retrofit contribute to reducing climate change impacts – Can this change improve peoples quality of life Recent international research (books, journal articles, peer reviewed papers, guidance, law and legislation) are most favoured as sources for referencing unless wider and historic aspects are being considered.
