Literature Review Paper The goal of this assignment is to demonstrate your understanding of research and writing skills. . This paper is broken into two main parts: Part One You will write a literature review paper on a topic of your choosing (this topic needs to be approved by the professor). This assignment also provides an opportunity to delve deeper into a topic of your own interest. For this assignment students will write a paper reviewing research related to the field of psychology. The final research paper should be in APA style and will be approximately 5-7 pages long (12 font, double spaced, not including the title page and reference page). The title of the paper should be phrased as a question. I want students to develop a research question and state their question at the beginning of the paper. (see examples below) Topics can include: Exploring a Branch of Psychology Theoretical perspective (Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Socioecological, Cognitive, Relational, etc) Topic related to Cognition, Perception, Intelligence, Emotion, Motivation etc. Human Development Analyzing an Experiment (Stanford Prison Experiment, Brown Eye-Blue Eye Experiment) Information from at least 5 resources, 3 of which must be original research studies. An article is considered an original research if the article was written by the researchers who actually did the study. The goal is to become more knowledgeable about your topic and understand the literature available. The paper should include: Cover Page Introduction Hypothesis & Importance of the topic 3 Main themes or Major points that from your research Summary Review the key findings Analysis of the literature review Assessment of original hypothesis Reference Page (not included in the page count) Part Two PRESENTATION You will provide the class with an overview of the research on your approved topic. You will develop a 6-8 slide powerpoint presentation – highlighting what you’ve learned. Each person will be required to develop at least 2 you have for future exploration of your topic. The presentations will be uploaded onto blackboard in the Discussion Board section.
