Attached are the instructions for 2 parts to this assignment. This order is for both Part :1 the Essay Outline and annotated bibliography and part 2: the research essay (1000 – 1200 words). I am estimating that part 1 will be about 900 words. The topic for the essay is "The avocado and its relationship to North America and Mexico". The avocado used to be Mexicos most iconic ingredient but now is growing scarce in Mexico because so many of them are shipped to North America now. Its an example of how north American food culture colonizes minority culture by stealing an essential element of their culture. How do you think Mexicans feel about this? Sure, it makes them a lot of money in exports, but they are losing the one plant/fruit that defines their culinary culture. Is it worth the money? Does it feel like they are selling away their culture?
