This assignment is designed to provide you with an opportunity to synthesize the learning from the entire semester and to create a concise document that articulates your personal philosophy of leadership. The process of developing a personal leadership statement will help you clarify the core principles that will influence your actions and beliefs as you engage in the process of leadership. This is a personal statement and should represent your unique philosophy of leadership, both in content and form. As you are developing your philosophy of leadership consider some of the following: Describe your thinking about leadership and explain what has influenced your thoughts Identify your core values, principles, and goals that influence your behavior and decisions – see attached word doc Identify your personal leadership style – Servant Leadership Identify whether any of your religious or other personal beliefs impact your leadership philosophy – I’m a Christian Identify some personal principles that cant be broken Identify key leadership experiences that have informed your thinking about leadership Identify specific theories, models and/or approaches that you studied in this class that have influenced your understanding of leadership – See book “below” Identify some goals that you would pursue to continue growing as a leader These are only a few issues to consider. Feel free to add others which you see as necessary and appropriate for your specific situation. Make sure that you make a strong connection with the readings that you completed during the semester when writing your philosophy of leadership (use at least five research sources that are not included in the reference sections of the chapters in the textbook – you can use the textbook as one of your research sources). This paper should be between 5-6 pages long (double spaced, font Times New Roman, size 12, margins not wider than one inch), not including the cover page and the reference section.
