This week the assignment is about ethics. We have touched on ethics here and there throughout the course, but here is the moment to really spend some concentrated time on the topic.

Prepare a paper (5 to 8 pages) that discusses the issue of ethics in relation to finance/accounting/economics. You can choose one area to focus on, or you can do something that integrates all three areas. Include examples in your paper, both of the good and the bad. Be sure to have a major theme for your paper – for example – How corporate greed is impacting ethical behavior. You decide the focus. 5. Do you think Twain the author agrees with Roxy the character that Tom is a bad person because he has black blood in him (if only 1/32 part)?
6. Though the book is obviously challenging social attitudes regarding race, the author also mocks class pretensions and notions of Southern honor. In what specific episodes does Twain target Southern honor and those who adhere to its code?
7. As an author, Twain loved dualities and juxtaposing contradictory ideas. How does he do this in Puddnhead Wilson? What are some of these dualities? Mr. Y is a 47 year old, mixed race [Asian/African ethnicity], male patient who presented to your office with severe right great toe pain. Onset of the pain was 2 days ago. Mr. Y denies any known trauma to his right foot or his great toe on that foot. His right great toe is red and became so swollen in the last day that he cannot put on his shoe.

Mr. Y has a history of hypertension for which he is taking HCTZ 25mg daily, Metopralol 50 mg twice daily, and Lisinopril 10 mg daily. He denies any other medical problems.
