According to the Centre for Economics and Business Research, when it comes to getting SMEs to export, the UK is missing out on billions of pounds of potential revenue. Less than one fifth of all UK SMEs sell their goods and services overseas. Among the factors restricting export development, SME owners are put off by language barriers, cultural differences and a lack of insight regarding the use of digital channels to engage overseas target audiences while minimising the cost of a new market launch campaigns. A study by the Brookings Institution estimates that there are 3.2 billion people classified as middle class around the world, 88% of which are in China, India and other developing Asian countries. Higher levels of income and growth create demand for products and services that UK SMEs should be exploiting.
Identify a domestic SME business that has yet to expand into an overseas market but has the potential to use digital channels to grow internationally. It is a requirement that you identify a business that meets the needs of consumers in overseas markets but also provides a socially responsible and/or ethical advantage over competitors.
You must select an SME company with fewer than 200 staff with an annual turnover less than 50m and currently demonstrates little or no recognition of multicultural values in its digital communications activity

Adapt a planning framework to facilitate the digital launch delivery of your international expansion plan for the target business as discussed above. Please refer to the marking criteria below to guide you in the preparation of your proposal.

Students will submit a term/research paper that illustrates self-awareness and their understanding of the theoretical concepts of psychosocial and systems theory, social forces and social identities in human development. Each student must analyze his or her own behavior during middle childhood (6-12 years) OR early adolescence (12-18 years) in terms of the theoretical frameworks discussed in class and review of pertinent literature. This paper is expected to describe his or her management of each task in this stage and of the psychosocial crisis. Special attention must be given to the ways in which development was influenced by the family, small groups (peers) or organizations (church, school, scout, etc.) and by gender, race, socioeconomic status, and/or other specific social forces (unemployment, parent involvement in war effort, rural/urban residence, etc.).

This weeks assignment is to create a Powerpoint presentation. This presentation should be 12 – 15 slides long in addition to a cover page and a reference page. Use bullets on most slides but each page should include a note section with at least 150 words in addition to the slide. Cite your work, limit quotes, and edit your work well for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. Quotes should always be rare and properly cited. Slides or notes with excessive quotes will have deductions. Use your own words.

Assignment – Examine Trait, Skills, Behavioral, Situational, and Path-goal approaches/theories of leadership

Prepare a presentation as if you were a leadership instructor. You are to prepare it so you will be able to teach a lesson to a class. Using the five approaches/theories of leadership we have discussed in the first three weeks of class, document what the approach or theory is based on, how it is different than the others, and when it is best used. Consider the strengths and weaknesses of each one. Give examples of when each theory would work best. For example, consider different positions like a construction plant manager or a school principal or a nurse. What approach would work best for different positions? Incorporate that into your lesson. Your goal is to have your audience (students) understand the five approaches and when to use them.

Do not copy definitions from the book. Use your own words to get your students to understand the different aspects of the theories. Use the 12 – 15 slides for the five approaches/theories, approximately two- three pages for each one.
