I have answered enough telephone calls to assume there may some confusion regarding this high point, 200 level paper. The three (3) required components are named in the college requirement and are spelled out in my Syllabus and in the Exams & Assignments Tab.AGEC/Special Requirement: Intensive Writing.Critical Inquiry Component. Social and Behavioral Sciences.All students will submit a research paper that assesses current crime trends, explains contributing factors to criminal behavior and utilizing appropriate criminological theories, evaluates possible solutions to criminal activity. Failure to submit the required paper will result in a failing grade for the course. The requirements for the research paper are as follows:1. Assess (see Test Taking Tips description for assess) the current crime trends (more than one).2. Explain (see Test Taking Tips) many of the contributing factors to criminal behavior.3. Evaluate possible solutions to criminal activity utilizing the appropriate theories we have studied.+ A separate title page composed utilizing the American Psychological Association (APA) system of composition.+ A separate Abstract page composed utilizing the American Psychological Association (APA) system of composition.+ A paper consisting of a minimum of 7 pages up to a maximum of 10 pages which does not include the title page or References page, with a minimum of 5000 words devoted to the three (3) topics listed above and utilizing the APA system for composition and in-text citations and references. The APA system requires double spaces, however, in order to meet the page requirements, you will need to single space the body of work.+ A separate page entitled References composed utilizing the American Psychological Association (APA) system of composition.+ To be very clear, for the first component you must select more than one current crime trends to assess such as cyber, elderly or other crime trends which are very easy to research using the FB, Department of Justice, local law enforcement or many other sites.+ The next component requires you to explain many of the contributing factors to criminal behavior. Any Sociology, Psychology, Criminology material or any number of sites can provide this information.+ The last component requires you to evaluate a number of possible solution to criminal activity.Do not attempt to link all three components together, for example, research on murder as a trend, followed by a contributing factor for murder, and then a possible solution for murder. This is a very structured project and doing this is not how this requirement is structured. Historically, attempts to do so results in a lowering of your point total for this project.Also, please remember that when completing a 5,000 word project it is very important that you proof your work closely to avoid major point loss as described in the Research Paper Rubric. At least 50% of the writing must be polished (publishable) formal prose.
