Gloria Anzaldua’s writing is difficult to categorize as an essay or a story or a poem;it has all these within it. The writing may appear to have been just put together, but it is more likely that it was carefully crafted to represent the various voices Anzaldua understands to be a part of her. She speaks directly about her voice-her woman’s voice,her sexual voice, her poet’s voice;her Indiana, Spanish,and white voices. Following Anzaldua, write an argument of you own, one that requires you to use a variety of voices, in which you carefully present the various voices that you feel are part of you or a part of the argument.
