The purpose of this assignment is for students to incorporate the principles of holistic patient care in thedevelopment and implementation of a teaching project to a selected population. The convenience populationfor the project will be at the discretion of the student. My topic will be High blood pressureStudents will 1) access their group 2) evaluate thegroup’s holistic learning needs, and 3) implement a teaching plan related to a selected health promotiontopic. The teaching project must be health promotion-oriented and approved by faculty prior to developing theplan. The teaching plan should be based on theoretical principles of learning and demonstrate appropriateinstruction based on information presented in Blais and Hayes chapter 8. Assessment of the population mustinclude holistic health care considerations for the unique learning needs of the learner includingdevelopmental levels, cultural and spiritual needs, and any special learning needs as appropriate.Creativity is highly encouraged in Sections I and II (below) of the Holistic Patient Teaching Project.Grading RubricCriteria Possible Points Actual Points and CommentsI.
