HTT700 Current Issues in Tourism / Hospitality Luxury Management Assignment #2 – 10% of total class grade Like all other businesses, luxury companies are confronted to the growing customer awareness about sustainability, pollution, and climate change and the increasing push for firms to integrate environmental issues to their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategies. You can choose one of the two following topics (make sure to specify the topic in your introduction): Option A. The French group Kering has been the luxury firm leader in tackling sustainability and climate change. Discuss with examples from Kering and other companies why addressing climate change is important for the luxury sector. Option B. A unique and award-winning hotel in Canada is the Fogo Island Inn. Sustainability is for them a driving principle, but they are a rare example. Is luxury hospitality compatible with sustainability? Each paper should discuss and include references to at least 4 academic research papers. Your paper should be between 1000 and 1200 words (no more than two pages single-space), not including the reference list.
