The Founding Fathers and their intentions has long been a source of historical and political intrigue that historians and politicians are still debating. As an economic history class we will be examining the Constitution as an economic document. Attached is the brief introductory lecture to the Constitution explaining some basic background should give you some context to the writing of the single most important document in U.S. History.. The YES response comes from John P. Roche, a political scientist, who views the Constitution strictly as a working form of government. The NO response comes from historian Howard Zinn who uses a more economic and social perspective. For this assignment you will need to provide a summary of the argument that is made by John P. Roche and Howard Zinn (about 2 paragraphs for each summary). You will also need to give your own opinion as to which author you believe makes the most convincing argument (1-2 paragraphs).
