Your letter should describe and evaluate UM’s BA program, its decision to focus on diversity, its choice of The Broken Ladder, and the text itself, focusing on at least two of Payne’s rhetorical choices (for example, his decision to personal experiences, stories, and scientific studies; and his decision to write about specific forms of inequality in the middle chapters).Evaluation Criteria: Good analysis should consist of a nice balance between description and evaluation. While you may express reservations about the administration’s and Payne’s choices, you should be able to recognize many of them as valid.
