The following descriptors will be used to evaluate the Introduction:
General impression of background information
Research problem stated clearly and understandably
Provides significance of conducting study
Provides a road map for the rest of the study
Meets the required page length (1 1.5 pages) for the Final Paper Formatting Guide

The following descriptors will be used to evaluate the Statement of the Problem/Hypotheses (or Questions):
Clearly and concisely stated
Consistent with the Introduction
Reflect(s) Purpose of Study
Consistent with Literature Review
Matches the philosophical underpinnings of your study (i.e. language for each question is appropriate)

The following descriptors will be used to evaluate the Review of Literature:
Comprehensive, thorough, and organized presentation of research
Relevant to the introduction; summary paragraph of literature review
Appropriate type of references, especially relevant to your topic
Meets the required page length (4 6 pages) for the Final Paper Formatting Guide
Meets the minimum number (20) of references for the Final Paper Formatting Guide

Part II of Research Paper
The following descriptors will be used to evaluate the Participants section:
Indicates who will participate in study
Lists relevant characteristics of subjects/population
Tells (approximately) how many subjects will be in the study; number is relevant to the design of the study
Tells how subjects will be selected (review sampling procedures from your EDUR courses and name the sampling technique you plan to implement)
Participants are appropriate for the study

The following descriptors will be used to evaluate the Research Design section:
Adequately described
Appropriate given your topic and makes sense given your introduction
Fits the problem
Appropriate given previous literature
Major variables named and described (be sure to list independent and dependent variables, any covariates, etc. anything you plan to measure, manipulate, and/or describe – and label them as such)

The following descriptors will be used to evaluate the Instruments/Materials section:
Adequately described
Discussion of validity and reliability (if applicable – This is likely to be applicable for all instruments; dont assume that it is not available for a commercially produced instrument or that you dont have to establish it for an instrument you create. You must assume responsibility for discussing and, in some cases, establishing, these characteristics of your instrument.)
Instruments/Materials are appropriate given the Introduction, Literature Review, etc.
Instruments/Materials match the philosophical underpinnings of your study
Appendix provided with any instrument/survey used.
