Course: Econometrics1. TopicThe theme of the project will be based on development economics with special emphasis on education and health. First, you have to read empirical economics papers that have introduced the same or similar topics and follow them. Second, start searching for the data. Then write a good introduction showing a complete background on the topic, the country chosen, and the reason(s) for choosing this country. The chosen countries are: Turkey, Iran and Morroco. Also, include a statement showing your objective(s), how your paper is different from other papers and a briefing about the organization of the paper. Then write a complete literature review covering literatures in your topic. A strong literature review is required. Third, try to use the same models used in the literatures but for a different country. Fourth, use the following journals or any other good journals to write the literature.- Journal of Development Economics- American Economic Review- National Institute Economic Review- Economic Journal- International Review of Applied Economics2. Data and empirical StrategyBefore you start you have to check that the data you will be using is available. You can use time series data, cross section data or panel data. It is preferable to use time series analysis rather than cross sectional analysis in your paper, unless the comparison is set between many countries. Use the appropriate variables and observations. The number of observations should be at least 30; and they could be yearly, quarterly or monthly. It’s preferable to provide graphs and diagrams for presenting your data. The data used should be attached with the E-views results in the paper appendix. The data description should include:a. What are the observations (e.g. people, countries, etc.)?b. What are the response variable and its measurement unit (e.g. miles, dollars, etc.)? The empirical strategy should include the variables and the model you are using, with a complete explanation of the model.3. Econometric ResultsPresenting the results and analysis of the model, it is not expected that your results will be 100% accurate. The evaluation will be based on the analysis you did to obtain your results, and the clear presentation of data and results. You have to organize your paper like any paper presented to an economics journal.4. ConclusionA strong conclusions not less than one page is required. It should contain a comparison between the two or three countries you have chosen, results for the period under study and the reasons for similarities or differences. Also, you can mention, if possible, the performance of other countries which have the same features.5. References:Provide not less than 10 references including books and journals. References should be written in Harvard format.
