Developmental Parenting Paper Instructions:
1. Choose 1 stage of Childhood Development from the following list:
0-2 years (newborn and infant)
2 – 4 years old (toddler and preschool)
5 -9 years old (elementary school age)
10-13 years old (early adolescents
14-18 years old (adolescents)
2. Using your course texts (Holden and CCP readings) and 2 peer-reviewed sources, apply the theory and concept(s) that relate to your chosen childhood development stage.
3. APA format (for citations and formatting).
4. Use Times New Roman or Ariel in 12 point font
5. This paper will be a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 7 pages in length, not including title and reference pages.
Introduction:
A brief summary of what you are going to write about and a brief description of the childhood development stage you chose.
Body of paper:
The body of your paper should back up your introduction.
Use your research to explain the stage of child development you chose while answering the following questions:
1- Why and what is important to understand from the childhood development age you chose when it comes to parenting?
2- Describe 2 effective parenting techniques (as evidenced by your research) for the childhood developmental stage you chose.
3- What do you think is the most important concept and/or theory of the stage you chose and why?
Conclusion:
The purpose of a conclusion is to restate the thesis, summarize the essay’s body, and leave readers with a final impression. A strong conclusion restates, not rewrites your thesis from the introduction and consists of three sentences minimum
