Problem Statement: In recent years, the percentage of minority groups in the military has increased significantly. With increased calls for diversity and inclusion, there is a genuine need to establish new ways to manage conflict. An exploration of the conflict management strategies (accommodating, avoidance, collaboration, and comprising) and the emotional intelligence of minorities who are in leadership positions in the military is needed to determine if training and development opportunities are necessary for ongoing success in managing conflicts with increasingly diverse leadership.
