The paper should be broken into three (3) sections. The first section is the introduction to the crime and contains an overview of the crime selected by the student. The second section is a discussion on how the crime has evolved over the last several decades as technology has improved. Section three is the current state of the criminal act, to include if necessary a discussion on the investigation and prosecution of offenders of this type of crime. Your paper must be at least five type-written pages of substance in length, double spaced with a 12 point Times New Roman font. You may not use your course text as a reference. Sources obtained from the Internet must be academically sound. The author must be identified as well as the date of publication or posting online. You may not use an Internet source that does not list an author and background information about the author. Exception: a government site such as the U.S. Department of Justice or private organizations such as the Institute for Criminal Justice Education. Your paper must be in APA form and style. An abstract and reference page must be included for APA and does not count as a page of substance. Your paper must be a research paper, not an opinion paper. Do not use the pronouns I, me, or my. Cite all information presented in your paper except the introduction, transition sentences and conclusions. All papers must have a clearly identifiable introduction, body, and conclusion. Your paper must be submitted as a word document. Late papers will not be accepted. You must submit the papers on or before the due date listed in the course instructions/course syllabus.
