Leadership: Vision Statement Critical Thinking Journal

Your integrated 10-year personal and professional strategic plan will be framed by a series of topic typically associated with strategic planning. After the mission (defining the purpose for the organization), organization leaders articulate to followers a sense of direction for the organization. This sense of direction is called a vision. Haines (2010) defined personal visioning as an ideal future state of being. He suggested one needs to envision the future state and through reverse engineering one discovers goals and current boundaries that one needs to navigate to arrive at a desired future state. Ambler (2013) proposed ten characteristics of an effective vision. The characteristics included being future focused, directional, clear, relevant, purpose-driven, values based, challenging, unique, vivid, and inspiring. In developing your integrated personal and professional strategic plan, you will need to develop a vision as a foundational element in your paper.Use your critical thinking journal to (1) critically think about and analyze your vision for the next ten years from personal and professional perspectives and (2) in Step 5 of Paul and Elder’s (2012) critical thinking model, as adopted for the class synthesize your thinking following the guidance contained in the critical thinking journal template. Please see the example provided & make use of the template provided.
