PLAY ASSIGNMENT Play has been described as the key to motivation that opens the door to motor learning. In Chapter 15, Developmental Concepts of Play in Schuster and Ashburn, several theorists views on play are reviewed. ? Select one of these theorists and briefly discuss one aspect of their point of view. ? Then select one of the age groups the theorist focused on and give some practical applications that can be used with children during a physical therapy treatment session. ? Use the literature to support your practical applications. This discussion should be no more than 3-4 typed pages using the format outlined in the syllabus including a reference page. Please include a copy of the journal articles used and be prepared to discuss practical applications as part of a later class during the semester. Please do not confuse play with play therapy (which is a form of counseling). Be careful how you enter your wording when searching for material.
