Each student is required to develop an assignment consisting of the construction of a performance and physiological testing session for a team of 20 x U/20 high-performance Rugby League players. As context, this group of players are well-trained and part of a professional club. Testing will be conducted at their home training facility, consisting of a field and gym, during a 3h session on one day of an early pre-season training week. You will need to develop a plan, rationale and justification of each test to be conducted, knowing you have a set time limit for this number of players. Included in the outline should be: Part A: -List of the tests to be conducted (in the correct/appropriate order) -Description of what each test measures -Justification as to why the test is important for this type of athlete. -Outline the basic methodology of how to perform the test (dot point is fine). -Outline issues regarding reliability/accuracy or other concerns for testing. -Outline of how you will organise the testing day in this environment. Part B: -Outline how you would analyse the data ie what analytical methods would you use to assist you interpret the results? -Outline how you would inform/report back to the coach ie. what format would you provide the data or report in? The above information should be contained in no more than 5 pages (ie 4 pages for Part A and 1 page for Part B), with references contained in a list at the end of the assignment and not included in these page limits. The format of the assignment is up to the preference and design of the student, though should be within the allocated page length. For example, students can write it out in essay format with appropriate sub-headings or they can create a large table with each test within respective sections. All assignments should be submitted via the Turnitin folder in the Assessment section of UTSOnline. Finally, a full marking guide will also be available on UTSOnline. Extensive referencing of the test methods, justification and reliability/accuracy is required for Part A. References are essential by way of using published, peer-reviewed scientific evidence (no web-sites!), with at least 2 references per test expected. Part B is your opinion, and references are not compulsory, though would be useful as examples and justification of what methods you might use.
